Key Points

The Application procedure will be conducted through a user-friendly online tool Personio.

To submit an application, candidates will be required to complete an Application form that includes two sections:

1. Personal info

An administrative form which includes researcher’s personal and contact information. The form can be found in the section ”Supporting documents” on the website.

2. Documents to be uploaded

 

  1. Official academic transcripts corresponding to the degrees completed (both Bachelor’s and Master’s).
  2. CV (Curriculum Vitae)
  3. Letter of Motivation in English*
  4. Application Form

* If you are applying for more than one project, you must submit a specific Letter of Motivation for each project.

On the Application Portal, the field names differ from the required document names specified on this website and the Guide for Applicants. Note that it is mandatory to upload all the required documents regardless of the field names.

Eligibility criteria

The following requirements have been established to ensure the excellence of the program and its participants.

  • Eligible candidates must not have a doctoral degree at the date of their recruitment.
  • Candidates must comply with the Marie Sklodowska Curie (MSCA) mobility rule: they must not have resided or carried out their main activity in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the call deadline
  • Candidates should be entitled to enrol in a PhD program: as per the internal regulations of our collaborating universities, the University of Barcelona (UB) and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree, or be in the process of obtaining it by the end of the selection process (on the date of the SAB consensus meeting at the latest). The total equivalent should be 300 ECTS in total, 60 of which should correspond to a Master’s degree (or equivalent credit system for degrees awarded by universities outside the EU).
  • High level of proficiency in written and spoken English, which will be assessed with the motivation letter and the interview

Upon closing of the call, applications are registered, acknowledged, and the contents are entered into a database to support the evaluation process. An admin check will be performed by the Project Manager, based on the eligibility criteria.

2. External Evaluation Stage

Applications will be externally evaluated by madri+d, based on the following criteria:

  • CV and track record of applicant
  • Motivation essay in English (summary of relevant skills, experience and knowledge that fit the chosen project)
  • Official academic degree transcripts

3. Interview Evaluation Stage

Interview Committee will evaluate the applicant based on the following criteria:

  • Domain background knowledge and communication skills
  • Motivation and career prospects
