DC8 Monitoring how endothelial cells contribute to non-Hodgkin lymphoma relapses

MonEC

MonEC aims to study endothelial-related senescent mechanisms in non-Hodgkin lymphoma relapses upon chemotherapy treatment.

Keywords: Therapy-induced senescence, endothelial cells, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, tumor relapse

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) are lymphoid tumors that arise by a complex process of malignant transformation of mature lymphocytes. The standard treatment for these B cell malignancies consists of chemotherapy cocktail; yet, about 30% of these patients relapse within the following 5 years post treatment. We have identified that this standard chemotherapy cocktail induces senescence in the metastatic sites of this disease with endothelial cells being one of the most affected cell types in this process. In MonEC, we will combine scRNAseq analysis, lineage tracing approaches and in vitro models of co-culture to understand the contribution of therapy-induced senescent endothelial cells on disease progression.

The project will be co-supervised by Verónica Rodilla, the group leader of Cancer Heterogeneity and Hierarchies at Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute.
